1.3. Your participation in the Competition and/or acceptance of a prize (if awarded) constitutes your binding acceptance of these Competition Terms and Conditions.
1.4. By participating in the Competition, you are deemed to have read, understood, accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions. Nothing in these terms and conditions limits any right you may have under applicable law, or your right to refer a dispute to a court, regulator, ombud or other competent authority.
1.5. This Competition is open to participating merchants using Participating Terminals.
1.6. Definitions
In these terms and conditions, unless the context indicates otherwise:
1.6.1. “Competition Period” means the period from 10 September 2026 to 23:59 on 10 October 2026, both dates inclusive.
1.6.2. “Merchant” means (a) a merchant outlet registered with the Terminal Operator, identified by its unique merchant identification number allocated by the Terminal Operator. Where a Merchant operates more than one terminal or outlet linked to the same merchant identification number, the Qualifying Transactions of all such terminals or outlets will be aggregated for the purposes of this Competition. A Merchant may participate only once in each component of the Competition, irrespective of the number of terminals or outlets it operates.
1.6.3. “Participating Terminal” means a payment terminal or device supplied and/or operated by the Terminal Operator on which the Standard Bank Instant Money solution and Rewards Platform are enabled, and through which a Merchant transacts and participates in the Competition.
1.6.4. “Promoters” means OTT and Standard Bank, and “Promoter” means either of them.
1.6.5. “Qualifying Transaction” means a Standard Bank Instant Money transaction processed by a Merchant on a Participating Terminal that is successfully completed and recorded in the Terminal Operator’s systems during the Competition Period, and excludes any transaction that is declined, failed, reversed, refunded, cancelled, duplicated, processed for testing purposes, or identified by the Terminal Operator as fraudulent or as an attempt to manipulate the Competition.
1.6.6. “Rewards Platform” means the rewards programme or functionality operated by the Terminal Operator and accessible on a Participating Terminal [SJ2.1]or associated device, through which a Merchant opts in to and participates in the Competition.
1.6.7. “Terminal Operator” means the independent third-party operator of the Participating Terminals and associated Rewards Platform through which the Competition is administered and with whom participating Merchants are registered.
2. COMPETITION DETAILS AND ENTRY MECHANICS
2.1. The Competition consists of two independent incentive components:
2.1.1. Lucky Draw Incentive; and
2.1.2. Volume‑Based Performance Incentive.
2.2. Merchants may qualify for one or both components depending on their activities. The Terminal Operator will support the administration of the Competition by monitoring and matching transactions to Merchants and Participating Terminals, verifying the qualifying criteria, and conducting the selection and ranking of winners using the merchant and terminal information recorded in its systems. OTT and Standard Bank do not receive the merchant or terminal ownership information required to perform these functions and will rely on the verified results provided by the Terminal Operator.
2.3. A Merchant must:
2.3.1. Be a registered Merchant outlet operating within South Africa;
2.3.2. Transact through a Participating Terminal integrated with Standard Bank Instant Money;
2.3.3. Opt-in to the Competition via the Rewards Platform on the terminal / device during the Competition period;
2.3.4. Have an active merchant profile with the Terminal Operator for the duration of the Competition; and
2.3.5. Provide accurate and up to date contact information.
2.4. Lucky Draw:
2.4.1. Any Merchant who has opted in and completes a minimum of 5 (five) Standard Bank Instant Money transactions during the Competition period will qualify for entry into the Lucky Draw;
2.4.2. All qualifying Merchants are entered into the Lucky Draw on an equal basis, and completing more than the minimum number of transactions does not increase a Merchant’s chance of being selected;
2.4.3. A total of 10 (ten) winners will be selected at the end of the Competition;
2.4.4. Each of the 10 (ten) randomly selected qualifying Merchants will receive a R250.00 wallet top-up;
2.4.5. The Lucky Draw will be conducted using eligible Merchant information recorded in the systems through which the Competition is administered. The verified results will be provided to the Promoters for oversight and confirmation of the prize process.
2.4.6. The Lucky Draw will be conducted between 12 – 13 October by the rewards team of the Terminal Operator, randomly selecting qualifying Merchants using internal data.
2.5. Volume-Based Performance Incentive:
2.5.1. All Merchants who have opted in to the Competition via the Rewards Platform on the terminal or device will be considered for the Volume-Based Performance Incentive, subject to the qualification requirements in clause 2.5.4.
2.5.2. Merchants will be ranked based on the percentage growth in transaction value achieved during the Competition period compared to their baseline month;
2.5.3. The baseline month is [insert the month and year, expressed as a date range – for example, 1 to 31 [month] 2026]. “Baseline Transaction Value” means the total value of the Merchant’s Qualifying Transactions recorded during the baseline month.
2.5.4. To qualify for the Value Growth Incentive, a merchant must, during the Competition period compared to the baseline month, achieve both: (a) at least 10% (ten percent) growth in transaction value; and (b) an increase in transaction value of at least R1,000.00 (One Thousand Rand);
2.5.5. A Merchant whose Baseline Transaction Value is zero cannot be ranked under this Competition, because the percentage growth formula in clause 2.5.6 requires a Baseline Transaction Value greater than zero. Such a Merchant is not eligible for the Volume-Based Performance Incentive but may still qualify for the Lucky Draw under clause 2.4.
2.5.6. Percentage growth is calculated as follows, and requires a Baseline Transaction Value greater than zero:
2.5.6.1. Percentage Growth = (Competition Period Transaction Value − Baseline Transaction Value) ÷ Baseline Transaction Value × 100;
2.5.6.2. where “Competition Period Transaction Value” means the total value of the Merchant’s Qualifying Transactions recorded during the Competition Period.
2.5.7. The 10 (ten) eligible Merchants achieving the highest percentage growth, determined in accordance with clauses 2.5.4 and 2.5.6, will share a prize pool of R25,000.00 (Twenty Five Thousand Rand), allocated as set out in clause 2.5.8. A Merchant that does not meet both qualification thresholds in clause 2.5.4 will not be ranked, regardless of its percentage growth.
2.5.8. Prizes will be awarded on a tiered basis to the 10 (ten) qualifying merchants achieving the highest percentage growth, as follows: 1st and 2nd place – R5,000.00 each; 3rd place – R3,500.00; 4th place – R3,000.00; 5th place – R2,500.00; 6th place – R2,000.00; and 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th place – R1,000.00 each.
2.5.9. Where two or more eligible Merchants achieve the same percentage growth determined in accordance with clause 2.5.9, they will be ranked as follows:
2.5.9.1. the Merchant with the greater absolute Rand increase in Qualifying Transaction Value over the baseline month will rank higher;
2.5.9.2. if a tie remains, the Merchant with the greater total Qualifying Transaction Value during the Competition Period will rank higher; and
2.5.9.3. if a tie remains, the affected Merchants will be ranked by random draw conducted under the supervision of the independent person overseeing the Competition.
2.5.10. If fewer than 10 (ten) Merchants meet the qualification requirements, prizes will be awarded only to those Merchants that do qualify, in the order set out in clause 2.5.8 beginning with 1st place. The balance of the prize pool will not be awarded.
2.5.11. Rankings will be determined using Qualifying Transaction data recorded in the systems through which the Competition is administered as at 23:59 on 10 October 2026. Transactions settled, reversed or corrected after that time will not affect the rankings.
2.5.12. Merchants who recorded no qualifying transactions in the baseline month will not automatically qualify and must meet the minimum growth thresholds set out above in order to be eligible for a prize.
2.6. The Promoters are not responsible for late, lost, incomplete, or incorrectly recorded transactions or entries due to technical, system, network, or operational issues.
2.7. Participants are responsible for ensuring that all personal and contact information provided is accurate, complete, and up to date.
2.8. The Promoters will not be liable for any costs incurred by participants in connection with participation in the Competition or acceptance or use of a prize.
2.9. If it is unlawful for a participant to receive a prize, the prize will be forfeited.
2.10. The Competition is not open to:
2.10.1. Directors, members, partners, agents, employees, or consultants of OTT, Standard Bank, their related entities, or suppliers involved in the Competition; or
2.10.2. The spouse, life partner, business partner, parent, child, or sibling of any such person.

3.4.5.2. for the Volume-Based Performance Incentive, by awarding the prize to the next-highest ranked eligible Merchant that has not already received a prize.
